Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. In readiness for
the 1st October release of Flesh
we’re moseying on over to that story for a while. It’s my
Post-Zombie-Apocalypse Erotic Romance M/F/M, because the world needs more of that kind of thing. Flesh is now available for pre-order. Meanwhile, here’s the blurb for your viewing
pleasure…
When the plague hit, her neighbours turned into mindless, hungry, homicidal maniacs.
Daniel has been a loner his entire life. Then the world empties and he realises that being alone isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Finn is a former cop who is desperate for companionship, and willing to do anything it takes to protect the survivors around him.
When the three cross paths they band together; sparks fly, romance blooms in the wasteland and Ali, Daniel and Finn bend to their very human needs in the ruins of civilisation.
Lust, love and trust all come under fire in Flesh as the three band together to survive, hunted through the suburban wastelands.
Zombies. Eww. |
The scene we’re looking at happens after Ali takes ‘stranger
danger’ to heart and tries to lose Daniel by fleeing back to her hidey hole in
a neighbour's attic. Our hero of course follows and captures her, pinning to the
ground with his fine self. He’s waiting for her to calm down and be reasonable.
He could be in for quite a wait…
Daniel lifted his head off his little ray of
sunshine’s chest, ridiculously gratified by the calm, even thumping of her
heart, and the steady, measured lift and fall of her ribs. She was alright, never
mind the griping.
His girl was okay, and on some subconscious,
un-chartable level, that equated to trust. It had to be trust. Or maybe she was
just worn-out. Oh well, he’d settle for what he could get, for now.
Nice six, Kylie! You've painted the scene clearly. I like the way you bring the reader right into Daniel's head... :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like that first sentence especially. This story sounds great:)
ReplyDeleteMen will always settle for what they can get - haha - you got that right! I like it.
ReplyDeleteLove his POV, the way he rationalizes:-) Great six!
ReplyDeleteInteresting set up, I have a feeling she's stronger than she seems - that steady beat of her heart is a good sign! Terrific six!
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm not a big zombie fan, but I'm ridiculously excited to read this. I think it's Daniel; I love his voice!
ReplyDeleteNoice, Kylie.
