Six Sentence Sunday...

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. Continuing straight on with our arranged marriage in outer space in the year 2088: Louise has arrived at a mining base on the moon of Esther to meet her new husband, Gideon. The person waiting, however, is not the sweet charming man she expected. This guy looks and smells like he was recently hosed off a barroom floor. With her stomach tossed about by the shuttle landing, our heroine is having trouble not puking on the stranger's shoes. Feeling a lot like unclaimed luggage, Louise has just asked him where her husband is…

“Shit, you haven’t been told?” The man, Adam Elliot, pinched his lips and growled a few more expletives. “Gideon died in an accident four weeks back. I’m his replacement.”
“Replacement, like as in the mines?”
“Like as in your husband.”

  2. OMG, this gave me a good chuckle in the end! As Virginia said, I kinda thought this might be the case, but the way you delivered it was pitch perfect that it got a reaction out of me, great job!

  4. Ooh, I can totally feel Louise's sinking stomach right now. "Is there a loophole? Can I get out of it? What the hell do I do on this godsforsaken lump of rock?"
