Weekend Writing Warriors... Lick

Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors with eight from LICK. My Contemporary NA out 1st July. Here's the quickie blurb for those unfamiliar with the story...

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hang-over to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man beside her, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

We’re continuing straight on from last week. Here’s the link if you’d like a catch-up. Our hero is fishing for asprin for our poor hung over heroine.

One by one he emptied the contents of his pockets out onto the cold white tiles. A credit card, guitar picks, a phone and a string of condoms. The condoms gave me pause but I was soon distracted by what emerged next. A multitude of paper scraps tumbled out onto the floor. All had names and numbers scrawled across them. This guy was Mr Popularity. Hey, I could definitely see why.

Finally, he produced a small bottle of pain-killers.

  2. Kylie, I didn't post this week. Meant to leave that comment on the last one. I didn't want Warriors going to my blog to reciprocate. I never made it around last week, so just visiting this week. :-)

  12. All I can say is you're good. I have to budget better so I can buy The Colonist's Wife. That'll be my next buy, followed by this one.

  13. Good description. I guess the condoms, pills and phone numbers sums up her impression of him rather well. :)
