Weekend Writing Warriors... Lick

Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors with eight from LICK, my contemporary NA out 1st July. Here’s ze blurb….

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hang-over to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man beside her, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, as the Mrs to rock and roll’s favourite son, life is never going to be the same.

We’re continuing straight on from last week. Here’s the link if you’d like a catch-up. Our hero honey offered her asprin and busted her ogling his hot bod. Now, weeks like this, it's hard not to play around to try and give you more. But I'm sticking to the rules. Eight straight off the page. Bear with me, we'll get there in the end!

Big city lights from the night before or some such.
My gaze darted to his face and he gave me a sly, knowing smile. Wonderful. “Yes. Please.”

He grabbed a battered black leather jacket off the floor, the one I’d apparently been using as a pillow. Thank God I hadn’t puked on it. Clearly, this beautiful half naked man had seen me in all my glory, hurling multiple times. I could have drowned in the shame.

  2. Love the blurb.

Gotta love a guy who'll hold your hair while you puke and still want you in the morning. Great snippet!

  3. LOL. She's worried about him seeing her throw up when she should have been worried about that diamond. Such a typical female reaction. Great job.

  6. He sounds like a keeper - anyone who can deal with vomit and still look good has more than fine genetics going for him ;) I enjoyed your brief 8.
