Six Sentence Sunday...

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. I thought this week I’d give you the first six from something I've been working on. It’s the same Post-Zombie-Apocalypse world as Flesh. Let me know what you think.

In the end they took a vote on whether or not to trade Roslyn to the stranger at the gate. They even gave her a say, demonstrating democracy was not dead even if civilisation had gone belly up seven months back when the virus first struck.

All nine survivors gathered on the school steps. The weak winter sun above them did little to combat the bitter wind. Her marrow was ice and her teeth chattered. She wanted to wrap her arms around herself, huddle down into the green school jacket she’d purloined out of a student locker.

Reasons why I failed to write a blog this week...

I was too busy doing housework. With or without the lingerie and tacky white stiletto heels. You choose.

Also, running scantily clad across the countryside having an existential crisis takes time, dude.

Plus, I was pondering the nature of tentacle porn and somehow a whole week had up and passed.

Look, I'm sorry. But I was just too preoccupied with my valuable research.

And the time I put aside for writing the blog got wasted *accidentally* staring at pictures of half naked men. Again.
Besides which, I've been working my arse off writing the sequel to Flesh. You think smut and gore just happen by themselves? Well they don't. Deal with it. Now go check out the man titty pic again for good luck and prosperity.

Six Sentence Sunday... with Room with a View.

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. Thanks to everyone who stops by to comment each week. It's going to be a damn shame when Six Sentence Sunday shuts down. I hope the bulk of people will continue on with the practice regardless. It's been awesome interacting with so many great writers each week.

Today I’ve got another six from my short story, set Post-Zombie-Apocalypse, ‘Room with a View’. Here's the blurb just to give you the set up...

Natalie has watched as the zombie plague devastated civilisation.
Angus had been a miracle. Twenty-three years old and gorgeous he had appeared like Romeo from the pool area and thrown supplies up to her balcony. But now Angus is gone – he has abandoned her, which is probably for the best. She couldn’t stand to watch him die too.
Stranded four floors up and fenced in on all sides by the infected, food and water supplies are running as low as Natalie’s spirits. A lingering death from starvation seems inevitable.
But then she sees Angus striding for the pool gate with a sawn-off shotgun in his hands. Can he make it past the infected to reach her? And what will it mean if he does?

The summer sun was blindingly bright, the weather hot and humid, typical for January. Or was it February? She’d lost track of the days.
Natalie breathed in the salty sea air as she huddled behind the curtains. She watched the world from four floors up. The penthouse apartment, because Sean had to have the best.

Hot Down Under Launch Day!

The Hot Down Under series of dirty, flirty, short, but not so sweet stories launches today. It includes my ‘Room with a View’ that you’ve probably already heard me banging on about, but also the following great tales… Head on over to the Hot Down Under blog to enter the draw to win copies of these fiery hot tales.

Ishari is a djinn – the veritable genie in a bottle.
Her latest master, Caleb Salt, a hot young rock star, has one wish left. The curse of sexual need has nothing to do with the lust she feels for him, but he doesn’t seem to desire her in the same way.
Caleb has used his first two wishes to save his brother. Will he do the same with the last, or will he use it for himself? Either way, once he makes that wish, his erotically sensual genie will be lost to him forever and she’s something he’s just not ready to lose.

Can an online fantasy ever become real?
When Condamine connects with Esquire in a chat room, neither expect their mutual pleasure and close friendship will become something far more intimate and real. But when the opportunity to meet Esquire in the flesh comes up will Condamine – Caitlyn, in real life – be bold enough to act out her deepest fantasies, or will she hide away from the world behind the comfortable glare of her computer screen?

In the outback town of Mount Tully, many a man’s had to squeeze into a frock after backing the wrong derby cane toad on Australia Day.
But Mount Tully’s surliest bartender, Jane Hood, has her steel-capped boots planted firmly on the ground, so there’s no way she’d risk her independence to accept a saucy bet from the sexy but bossy pub owner, Luka Belov … is there?

Kristen Treymore isn’t living anymore – she’s existing.
Trapped in marriage to Jack, an alcoholic who uses his fists to communicate, Kristen has given up her freedom in an attempt to protect his daughter.
When Conrad Doyle, childhood friend and the man whose heart she unwittingly broke, shows up on Kristen’s doorstep and offers her a lifeline, she can’t refuse.
What she never dreams possible is how much she still wants him—but is that enough to keep them together when terror still beats deep in her heart?
